Along the east coast from Ganton are the popular seaside resorts of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey.

Britain’s first seaside resort of Scarborough has been welcoming visitors for over 360 years and is still as popular as ever. Scarborough is also home to famous playwright, Sir Alan Ayckbourn whose plays’ premier in the town prior to moving onto the West End.

Whitby is dominated by the cliff-top ruins of the beautiful 13th century Whitby Abbey.
This traditional maritime town, with its old cobbled streets and picturesque houses is set among fine stretches of coast with spectacular cliffs, beaches and bays. One hundred & ninety nine steps lead down from the Abbey to the old town where you find an array of unique shops offering local crafts, famous Whitby Jet jewellery, maritime memorabilia and antiques.

The quaint seaside resort of Filey, positioned on the beautiful Yorkshire Coast, is the perfect place to stay for those looking for peace & quiet. Bursting with all the appeal of a traditional Edwardian coastal town, Filey offers a real sense of olde worlde charm.

To the south we have the gently undulating scenery of the Yorkshire Wolds, with picturesque villages and the market town of Driffield, known as the ‘Capital of the Wolds’.

There is the bustling market square, the dramatic castle ruins, the charming tea rooms, the inviting inns; all surrounded by mile after mile of the beautiful North York Moors. Indeed, the Cleveland Way and Ebor Way both begin from here.
